Cowboy Boots with a Custom-Made Suit? Definitely!

Nothing looks better on the streets of Dallas with a custom-made men’s suit or a flattering pair of custom jeans than a gorgeous pair of handstitched cowboy boots. But if you’re getting down to business or heading out on the town, the town doesn’t have to be Dallas for custom-made cowboy boots to work with your bespoke custom suit

Finely made cowboy boots can work in just about any situation, just about anywhere you go. And we’re not the only ones who think that!

Cowboy Boots and Custom Suits?

You would, of course, expect those of us here at Edward Baumann to have a soft spot for cowboy boots, since we make the finest handmade boots available on the market. But we’re not the only ones who think custom-made cowboy boots add a touch of timeless style to custom men’s jeans, tailored slacks or bespoke suits.

It wasn’t long ago that GQ magazine told readers How to Take Cowboy Boots Off the Runway and onto the Street. In the article, GQ Style fashion director Mobolaji Dawodu said, “Cowboy boots go with everything, anything. I’m going to wear mine with jeans.” His choice that day was a chic pair of black Western-style boots made in lizard.

It turns out that cowboy boots aren’t new to Dawodu. He recalled wearing them when he first arrived in New York City. He believes that cowboy boots are a timeless style statement that never goes out of style. “You might go away from cowboy boots, but cowboy boots never go away,” he said.

A brief look at some of the celebrities who have been known for looking extremely comfortable in their cowboy boots reflects the timeless nature of the style. Everyone from Arnold Schwarzenegger and Burt Reynolds to fashion designer Adam Selman and rapper ASAP Rocky has been seen sporting fashionable, finely made cowboy boots with a range of styles and looks. And from Ronald Reagan to George W. Bush, cowboy boots have even walked the hallways of the White House.

In other words, if you’re wondering if a pair of finely crafted custom cowboy boots would look good with the custom-made suit you just ordered from Dallas’ bespoke tailor Edward Baumann, the answer is a resounding yes.

Should You Wear a Tie with Your Tailored Suit?

Not surprisingly, here at Edward Baumann Clothiers, where the custom-made men’s suits, custom jeans and customer service are all exceptional, we are often asked questions about men’s fashion trends.

After one of the recent debates among the many Democratic presidential nominees, someone came in with a question. During the debate, philanthropist and entrepreneur Andrew Yang kicked off a heated controversy. It wasn’t what he said, it was because of what he was wearing – or to be precise, what he wasn’t wearing: a necktie.

Are Neckties on the Way Out?

The simple answer is, no. But make no mistake, neckwear has evolved. Not every office job requires that men wear a tie, but there are situations where a tie is absolutely appropriate. And there are also situations where the right tie will set you apart from the crowd.

After that presidential debate, Philadelphia Magazine asked some executives what they thought about neckties. We love the answer that Ajay Raju, chairman and CEO of Dilworth Paxson LLP, came up with. “Insofar as neckties are worn with suits, they’ll never die,” he told the magazine. “The suit and tie is eternal; it’s men’s fashion at its zenith. Sophisticated cockroaches will be wearing suits and ties after a nuclear apocalypse. It’s an ensemble that does something unique. It both conveys and commands respect. A suit says, ‘I accept that a situation demands formality and conformity,’ while a conscientiously chosen ties says, ‘But I’m still going to express myself.’ If you’ve got a decent form and/or a decent tailor, you can’t go wrong with a good suit.”

We are proud to offer a selection of distinctive ties worthy to be worn with a bespoke custom suit from Dallas’s Edward Baumann Clothiers, including:

  • Dion Neckwear
  • Dolcepunta Ties
  • Robert Talbott Ties

The casual dress code adopted by the tech industry has influenced men’s fashion, but – whether you’re wearing men’s custom jeans or a custom suit crafted by the best bespoke tailor in Dallas – a well-dressed man will always command attention and respect.

Thank Beau Brummel for Stylish Custom-Made Suits

The gentlemen who wear custom-made men’s suits from Edward Baumann Clothiers, the most sought-after bespoke tailor in Dallas, understand that a fashion fad is not at all the same thing as style.

There are celebrities who are known for their style – like John Legend, who isn’t afraid of prints or color, but who can often be seen sporting a monochromatic look with accessories that hit just the right note. But when it comes to men’s style icons it’s hard to imagine anyone that has had more influence than Beau Brummel, the 19th century fashion-forward friend of the heir to the British throne.

As History.com reports, “In the 19th century’s first decade, George Bryan “Beau” Brummell dominated the London social scene, changing the course of men’s fashion in the process. Born into a wealthy family, Brummell’s sense of fashion and wit were enough to gain the friendship and patronage of the Prince of Wales (the future George IV).”

The First Man of Fashion

It is hard to overstate the influence Beau Brummel has had on men’s fashion. As the online style guide He Spoke Style says, “There is one man who stands alone as the forefather of men’s style. The father of dandyism. The man who introduced the suit and tie. That man is none other than George Bryan Brummell, better known as Beau Brummell.”

As History.com tells us, Brummel frowned on the gaudy colors and overdone looks that men favored in the 18th century. Brummel preferred to step out in something like a double-breasted riding coat and boot-tucked trousers. Clean lines and a restrained color palette appealed to him. “His style caught on, evolving into the muted 19th and 20th-century men’s business suit,” the experts at History.com say.

Just imagine what Beau Brummel would think of modern menswear if he were alive today! There are definitely fashion trends that we think would have him raising a critical eyebrow, but he would undoubtedly be right at home in the lounge or fitting rooms at Edward Baumann Clothiers, where the best-dressed men in Dallas go for fine custom suits.
